Additive Manufacturing Project
About AMP
The Additive Manufacturing Project (AMP) team is a dedicated group within the Liquid Rocket Lab focused on advancing additive manufacturing techniques for high-powered rocketry. Our student engineers explore new possibilities, optimizing processes with access to the Markforged MetalX and Mark 2 systems. We lead the way in 3D printing of metals and composites, offering valuable experience to students from various engineering disciplines. Additionally, students conduct tensile and pressure tests on 3D printed parts, research postprocessing methods, and optimize printing procedures in support of the B1LV and ZEUS teams.
From material selection to quality control, we prioritize efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while keeping our teams in the Liquid Rocket Lab at the forefront of additive manufacturing advancements.
